One question, every kitchen · free · no sign-up
What has your dish got to do with AI?
Every delegation that visits AI Singapore goes home with my book. A book gets read once. Now they also go home with a course. The same 21 lessons that teach AI through a plate of Hokkien Mee in Singapore can teach it through Irish stew in Dublin, or nasi lemak in Kuala Lumpur. The dish changes. The question stays the same.

The idea
Why a dish
In 2017 I could not hire AI engineers in Singapore, so I had to build them. That work became AI For Everyone, which more than 300,000 people have taken. The lesson those learners remember is never the algorithm. It is the hawker at his stall. He predicts the Friday crowd. He sorts the morning catch. He learns from every plate he serves. That is machine learning, told over prawns.
Food travels where slides cannot. Nobody signs up for a lecture about artificial intelligence, but everybody listens when the example is already on their table. That is why the first course was taught through a plate of Hokkien Mee, and why the second is taught over a bowl of Irish stew. The teaching holds in any kitchen, because every country has a cook who predicts, sorts, and learns.
The method comes from the book AI-First Nation and from AI For Everyone at AI Singapore. The plate, the bowl and the banana leaf are mine.
The recipe
How a country joins
Four steps, and the course lands on its own web address, free, in about the time it takes to host one delegation.
-
1
Pick the dish
One the whole country already loves, from the morning market or the family table. The dish is not a gimmick. It is the teacher.
-
2
We re-cook the 21 lessons
Every concept keeps its teaching, and every scene becomes that dish and its kitchen. The course is not translated at arm's length. It is cooked again.
-
3
A local narrator
A character the country recognises, drawn in the same storybook style, telling the whole course in the local voice.
